November 28, 2012 – Yesterday WAACO partnered with DLA Piper, Pfizer, and many pro bono organizations around the country to bring a video-conference on intellectual property and social media law for nonprofits from New York City to Seattle. Technology can be a great thing. This training was video-conferenced to DLA Piper conference rooms all over the country from their New York offices. It was offered for free to nonprofits here in Seattle and across the nation. There were no technology glitches, the video and sound were clear. The content of the presentations were informative and deep. The speakers were all excellent. They fielded questions from participants from around the country through laptops at each site. Elizabeth Guggenheimer, Deputy Director at Lawyers Alliance in New York, one of the organizers and facilitator of the training, welcomed WAACO and the Seattle participants because it was our first time participating and their first time having participants from the Pacific Northwest. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate and offer such expertise to the nonprofit community here in Seattle.
