What Information about Me Does CR Collect and Store?
CR strives to adhere to the highest standards of ethical practices in all of our operations and is dedicated to protecting the privacy of all visitors to our website. One of the basic principles we follow is minimizing the amount of information we collect. We ask only for the information we need to provide the service you’ve requested. As a result, what information we collect and store depends almost entirely on how you choose to make use of our website and our services. Read further to find out more…
Personal Information and Uses
We collect and store information that you enter into this website or provide to us via other means. For example, if you make a donation, submit an application for legal services, or send an email inquiry, we collect and store some or all of the following information that you provide, such as: name, address, phone number, email address, message contents of emails.
CR offers you a wide variety of programs and opportunities for direct participation in trainings, volunteer opportunities, receiving services, and for providing support (financial or otherwise). The personal information you provide is used by CR to process these requests, to send donation solicitations and confirmations, to sign up individuals and groups for events and programs, and to respond to general inquiries.
CR may share your name and contact information with other nonprofit organizations and/or government agencies in order to provide events or training that you sign up to attend. These organizations include King County (for Best Start for Kids (BSK) and Communities of Opportunity (COO) grantees), City of Seattle, Washington Nonprofits, Seattle Foundation, and others. Additionally we may share participant names with organizations where events or trainings occur for building access and security.
If you sign up for our microenterprise clinics, CR may share your name, legal issues, and contact information with our partners: Ventures, U.S. Small Business Administration, King County (COO), City of Seattle, and others. For both nonprofit and microenterprise clinics, we share your name, contact information, and legal issues with volunteer attorneys and volunteer note-takers (usually law students) and you will need to sign a limited engagement form.
For our grant-writing clinics, we may share your name, contact information, organization’s profile, and grant-writing inquiry with the volunteer consultant grant-writer(s) and grant writing clinic volunteers.
For our fundraising clinics, we may share your name, contact information, organization’s profile, and fundraising concerns and questions with the Association of Fundraising Professionals Advancement Northwest’s “Fundraisers on the Go” and fundraising clinic volunteers.
In addition, we may provide your subsequent comments or feedback on the services rendered to the volunteers to use to improve the services in the future. These volunteers each have requirements to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
CR constantly seeks to improve its operations and service offerings. We aggregate data from the information we collect and store to provide overall statistics such as number of volunteer hours provided or to help us understand our clients’ input, needs, and satisfaction levels. We may share aggregate data, without personal information, with third parties to report on trends and results.
Except as otherwise noted in this privacy policy, we do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information without expressly providing notification to you at the time you provide the information.
