This training will provide insightful tips and guidance about how to become a 501(c)(3) organization.

Do you know what it means to be a 501(c)(3) organization or wonder how you can become one? If so, this is the training for you. Regardless of your level of experience in the nonprofit world, you will be able to walk away with insightful tips (or reminders) and guidance about how to become a 501(c)(3) organization and what responsibilities come along with being a 501(c)(3). Topics will include:

  • the work demands around managing a nonprofit;
  • the difference between being a 501(c)(3) and nonprofit;
  • the basic requirements for becoming a 501(c)(3);
  • an overview of the 501(c)(3) application process;
  • and much, much more!

All registered attendees will receive an email the week before the webinar is to take place with specific instructions for how to access the webinar. If you are not able to join us on your computer, we will also have an option for you to call in and listen over the phone!

South King County:

This training is part of our South King County Nonprofit Legal Training Series and is intended for residents of S. King County and organizations that serve S. King County residents. In the event that the workshop fills up registrants outside of S. King County will be waitlisted. This training is also sponsored by The Seattle Foundation and City of Kent and is a partnership Communities Rise, WA Secretary of State and WA Nonprofits for nonprofits that serve South King County.

FREE legal clinic phone consultations – By appointment only!

Prior to the start of the workshop, we will host a legal clinic for nonprofits. This clinic will be hosted as phone consultations only rather than in-person appointments. During the legal clinic, each nonprofit will have approximately 45 minutes to speak with an attorney about a business-related legal matter. If you would like to schedule a clinic appointment, please contact our Program Manager Sarah Baker: sarah@communities-rise.org
