Privacy, data protection, and data breaches are in the headlines almost daily. But what do you as a nonprofit need to understand about privacy, the legal and non-legal risks to your operations, and what you should be doing now about it? This webinar is focused on the importance of understanding what nonprofits need to know about privacy and what they should do regarding handling of personal data.

About The Presenter

Jeff Brennan

Jeff is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and is general counsel and chief privacy officer for Vettd, Inc., a Bellevue start-up which develops artificial intelligence solutions for strategic workforce planning and management. Jeff holds Certified Information Privacy Professional credentials for both the U.S. and Europe (CIPP/US, CIPP/E) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. On a national basis, Jeff served as the Chair of the Identity Ecosystem Steering Group’s Privacy Committee, a public-private partnership focused on fostering the creation of privacy-enhancing trusted digital identities. Jeff authored Part 12, “Personal Information and Online Privacy Issues for Nonprofit Organizations,” of the 2018 edition of the Washington Nonprofit Handbook published by Washington Nonprofits and Wayfind Legal. Jeff is very passionate about the topic of privacy and has provided guidance on privacy requirements and policies to numerous non-profit organizations.

Jeff is a member of the Rotary Club of Mill Creek. He currently serves as the Rotary District 5030 (approximately 50 clubs in the Seattle area) Foundation Chair. His passion in Rotary is working on health, water and sanitation projects in indigenous villages in Guatemala. In addition, Jeff currently serves as 2nd vice-president of the Everett Public Schools Foundation and as secretary of the Pacific Northwest British American Business Connections organization.
