The Communities Rise annual Voices fundraiser is approaching! Join us on September 11 from 5:30-7:30PM at The Georgetown Stables and enjoy a night of good food, community connection, and joy.
We will have a feast from Wild Cats Catering, the same folks behind the beloved restaurant Musang, bringing us the vibrant and delicious flavors of home cooked Filipino cuisine. Plus an open bar and raffle baskets (more info to come 👀) to peruse as you eat!
Timing: Our doors open at 5:30pm and we are aiming for a short and sweet event. The first 50 attendees to arrive will receive ✨bonus raffle tickets✨, so we encourage you to be on time!
Dress Code: Please come in whatever makes you feel good, whether that leans more fancy or casual. Staff and Board are going to be wearing Communities Rise colors, and we would LOVE if attendees wanted to join us! This means:

Parking & Transportation: There is street parking in the blocks surrounding the venue. There is some parking available in the lot, but we recommend that folks save those for attendees with mobility challenges. We encourage you to double check the signage wherever you choose. As another option, check the METRO Trip Planner for bus route schedules and times.
Venue information and COVID precautions: This venue has an indoors section combined with an outdoor patio. Gender neutral restrooms are available. Please limit personal perfumes and fragrances for scent sensitivities. Masks will be provided and are encouraged when not eating or drinking. At-home Covid tests prior to arriving are also encouraged. If you’ve been exposed to someone with Covid or are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, please stay home.

Nonprofits and small businesses in Washington State are facing emerging legal and financial threats in the current political context. Our goal is to raise $100,000 through tickets and additional donations for The RISE Fund. The RISE Fund allows us to provide free legal and capacity building services to mission-driven organizations. Communities Rise offers three key components for organizations to stay strong in service of their communities:
- Legal protection: Nonprofit and small business leaders need legal resources to protect their organizations from inappropriate government enforcement. Communities Rise matches organizations with volunteer attorneys to reduce legal risks and meet basic operating requirements.
- Organizing Capacity: Every organization has the potential to make crucial policy changes at the local, state, and federal levels. Communities Rise offers legal support and strategic skill building to strengthen lobbying, advocacy, and community power.
- Sustainable funding: Organizations need sustainable funding sources to keep their employees and maintain or grow their programming. Communities Rise offers fundraising and grant writing clinics, technical assistance, and trainings to increase access to funds for under resourced communities.
Can’t join us in person for the event? You can still help us reach our goal by donating today!
