Technical Assistance in developing your Family Support Request for Proposal (RFP) is available to support community-based nonprofit organizations and fiscally-sponsored organizations that serve communities impacted by systemic oppression and do not have the internal capacity to hire a grant writer or have staff dedicated to grant writing.

Communities Rise can provide one 45-60 minute session of free consultation with a grant writing consultant to give you feedback and editing advice on your draft proposal. Our consultants can help by explaining the application, framing of the application, brainstorming potential answers to questions, and/or editing a draft application. Please note: consultants cannot write the application.

Who is eligible for this technical assistance?
This service is intended for community-based organizations and nonprofit organizations that are submitting a request for proposal through the Seattle Human Services | Youth & Family Empowerment Division that:

  • Have operating budgets of $500,000 or less – if you have questions about this requirement please email at;
  • Serve communities impacted by systemic oppression, which includes communities of color, immigrant and refugee communities, LGBTQ communities, persons with disabilities, low-income communities;
  • The organization must meet the RFP eligibility requirements.

Preference will go to organizations who do not have access to a grant writer/grant writing services.

To apply, fill out the online form below. You may also email to get a hard copy of the application. Please get in touch as soon as possible. We will prioritize inquiries who meet eligibility requirements and submit an inquiry prior to May 8th. We cannot guarantee support for inquiries that come in last-minute.
