Communities Rise supports nonprofits in Washington State so they can focus on their mission. We connect nonprofits with volunteer attorneys who help them with their legal needs.
Nonprofit Legal Clinic
Communities Rise offers monthly legal clinics to eligible nonprofit organizations. Nonprofits can make an appointment for a one hour appointment with an attorney for brief advice on their legal questions on issues such as bylaws, 501c3 compliance, intellectual property, and more. All legal clinics are currently being held remotely, via Zoom video call. Our legal clinics are held in the evenings with limited spots available. Reviewing lengthy documents or filling out paperwork is not possible during clinics.
Legal clinics are free and available to all nonprofits that meet our eligibility criteria, which are focused on nonprofits with limited resources that are unable to afford an attorney. Extended Legal Services
Certain nonprofits are eligible to receive extended legal services from Communities Rise on more complex legal matters, where the attorney-client relationship may last for an extended period such as multiple months. CR matches a nonprofit with a volunteer attorney based on a nonprofit’s specific legal needs.
A nonprofit is eligible for extended legal services if it is funded under programs that contract with CR to provide legal services.
