Grant writing support is available to support community-based nonprofit organizations, fiscally-sponsored organizations, and tribal organizations that serve communities impacted by systemic oppression and do not have the internal capacity to hire a grant writer or have staff dedicated to grant writing.
Communities Rise can provide 45-60 minutes of free consultation with a grant writing consultant to give you feedback and editing advice on your draft proposal. Our grant writing consultants can help by explaining the RFP, framing of the application, and/or editing a draft application. Please note: consultants cannot write the application.
Communities Rise can also provide limited support on fiscal sponsorships. If you are looking for a fiscal sponsor or support around setting up your fiscal sponsorship, please reach out for more resources.
Who is eligible for grant writing technical assistance?
This service is intended for nonprofit organizations that are submitting a proposal for funding through the King County Healthy Communities & Parks RFP that:
- Have operating budgets of $500,000 or less – if there is capacity we can support applicants with budgets up to $1,000,000;
- Serve communities impacted by systemic oppression, which includes communities of color, immigrant and refugee communities, LGBTQ communities, persons with disabilities, low-income communities;
- The organization’s service area must include King County and meet RFP eligibility.
Preference will go to organizations whose leadership (Leadership Staff and Board of Directors) reflect the communities they serve.
