We want to provide a moment for rest and relaxation during this current state of the world\, while also raising crucial dollars to support our organizations and community leaders. \n\n\n\nThis event is our primary fundraiser for the year. All tickets and additional donations will raise money towards of goal of $100\,000. Donate today! DESCRIPTION:Communities Rise’s mission is to foster movements to build power in communities impacted by systemic oppression. We do this by supporting nonprofits\, community based organizations\, and small businesses to grow\, thrive\, and build lasting economic power. While Communities Rise serves all eligible nonprofits and small businesses in Washington State\, we prioritize organizations with annual budgets of 500k or less and are led by or owned by people of color. \n\n\n\nJoin us on Thursday October 1st\, 2026 11-2pm PST in Downtown Kent for an immersive and interactive workshop on common areas of law and compliance for nonprofits\, including: State and federal legal requirements\, corporate governance requirements\, fundraising rules\, managing staff and volunteers\, intellectual property basics\, and more. Come with your general questions! All are welcome and will enrich the experience. This workshop is suited best for those who have a direct hand in the organizational structure and decision making power for your community based organization. Due to the limited size of this workshop please register if only if you are able to attend the workshop in its entirety. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is sponsored by the City of Kent and we prioritize Kent located and Kent resident serving organizations for this limited space workshop.
